Reviews Day Tuesday: Aubrey Organics Baby Shampoo

I've always suffered with skin issues, such as mild eczema, and my scalp has been no exception. So, of course, since Miss Isabelle came along I have been worried about what products to use on her, especially on her scalp.

So when I received a bottle of baby shampoo from Aubrey Organics, I was thrilled at the chance to try it out. What I love about this shampoo is that it is ALL natural; no petrochemicals, no artificial colours or fragrances can be found in it at all. Every single ingredient in the shampoo comes straight from nature - herbal and plant extracts and natural vitamins. It has leaping bunny symbol to let me know it isn't tested on animals, and is also gluten free.

The shampoo comes in a 237ml bottle, costing £8.48 from the Aubrey Organics website.  The packaging is plain, but this company prides itself on adding nothing extra in it's products, so the packaging fits that mantra perfectly.

I have to admit, I'm not wild about the smell of this shampoo when it comes out of the bottle. It doesn't smell bad, just not as 'good' as the shampoos I am used to. I do love that it comes in a pump bottle - a simple thing to make bathing a baby slightly easier. Two pumps is all it takes for Izzy's wild mane - and it lathered really well which allowed us to torture Izzy...

The bottle very clearly says the solution is NOT no tears and to be careful so, with that in mind, I always cover Izzy's eyes when rinsing. As of yet, we haven't had a single issue, even when it had trickled in by mistake. It rinses out perfectly with just one or two scoopfuls of water.

When I dried Isabelle's hair, I gave her a good sniff and was, at first, a little disappointed to realise her hair didn't smell of anything. But I realised that that is actually a great thing - that means that ALL the shampoo rinsed out, and none was left clinging to her hair or scalp to cause potential irritation. Isabelle's hair was soft and beautifully shiny afterwards, and although I was worried about a delayed reaction from her scalp, there was none.

Overall, this product is a perfect baby shampoo especially for those who have sensitive skin and are worried about their little one, or who know their little one has sensitive skin of their own. The fact that it's an all natural, organic product is an absolute bonus!
